Thunderstorm overnight

Dr John just called to update everyone on the team's progress...

The team climbed up to C1 as planned yesterday and spent a good night on the Col. During the night there was a big Thunderstorm with lightning and a bit of snow. This suggests that the monsoon is finally making its way North towards the Himalaya.

Everyone is now climbing towards C2 as I write. The weather is good and the wind isn't strong where they are now although still whipping the summit. The wind is still expected to drop significantly for the summit day on the 30th.

I relayed everyone’s best wishes, thoughts and good vibes to the team, combined from all your comments.

Dr John says that everyone is strong and well and that the signs are looking good. He will try to call again tomorrow morning with an update on their progress.

Not for the eyes of the climbers.

This is for all the ‘commentaires’
I know nothing about mountains or minus degrees Celsius but over the past 3 months I have grown to know the writers of the comments. This includes such names as Ben (Nevis), Anna (Purnna) whilst I am left with unanswered questions.
Why does Andrew sleep in a broom cupboard and drink Stella through a straw. Please Dans’ mum don’t be cross when his friends call him Sheila and Woody did you enter the marathon for the blind and disabled. Thanks to A.Nony (mouse) you certainly said a lot.
I think that we parents, loved ones and friends should challenge the expedition to a climb up Cat Bells. In order to give them a chance we will allow them to wear their climbing kit and each team will exchange equipment. We will use their fixed ropes (suitably tied to each resting seat on the way up, whilst they can use our Zimmer frames.

Thanks ‘commentaries’ for occasionally lightening a very serious event and I hope we will meet on some occasion
